Supporting Education in Donington and Surrounding Communities
The Cowley Endowed Schools Foundation is a local educational charity that has supported learning and opportunity for young people for more than 300 years.
What We Do
The Cowley Endowed Schools Foundation provides educational grants to eligible young people from Donington and surrounding villages in Lincolnshire who are progressing to college, sixth form, university, apprenticeships or other recognised courses of further or higher education.
We also provide annual grants to Donington Cowley Endowed Primary School and Cowley Academy, as well as supporting educational groups and initiatives that benefit the Donington community.
Student Grants
£200 Grants
For eligible students studying at college or sixth form, including A Levels, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent qualifications and apprenticeships. The grant is intended to help with the everyday costs of studying, such as books, equipment and travel.
£450 Grants
For eligible students undertaking university or degree-level study, or another recognised course of higher education. The grant is intended to help with the larger costs of studying away from home, such as textbooks, course equipment and travel.

Supporting Local Schools
We provide annual grants to Donington Cowley Endowed Primary School and Cowley Academy, helping to support educational opportunities and resources for local pupils. This has been part of the Foundation's work for generations and continues alongside our student grants.
Supporting Our Community
The Foundation may also provide small grants to educational groups and organisations that benefit the Donington community. If your group runs educational activities locally, we would be glad to hear from you.

Our aim is simple, to continue Thomas Cowley’s legacy by helping local young people and supporting education within our community.
For more than 300 years, his generosity has helped create educational opportunities for generations of local people.

Grant Applications
Applications open from 1 Sept to 16 Oct each year
Applications for student grants are accepted between 1 September and 16 October each year.
Applications received outside these dates will not be considered.
Could you be eligible?
To apply for a student grant, applicants must meet the Foundation’s eligibility criteria, including requirements relating to:
✔ Age - under 25
✔ Residency - at least two years in an eligible parish
✔ School - at least two years at a Donington school
✔ Study - further education, training or an apprenticeship
